Small incision cataract surgery (SICS) is one of the cataract surgical techniques commonly used in developing countries.This technique usually results in a good visual outcome and is useful for high-volume cataract surgeryIt is mostly done for matured cataract even though it can be done for immature cataract with excellent outcome in very skilled hands.
It is a sutureless cataract surgery like phaco.However, unlike phaco, it has a longer recovery(convalescent) period(1 month) after surgery. And usually done with rigid IOL and not foldable IOL indicated in phaco.

Vitrectomy Surgery

Brief information on vitrectomy surgery:
